Doggy style, in English also known as the "doggy position", "kitty style" and "retrocopulation", in Latin as "coitus more ferarum" (Sex by the custom of beasts), in the French language as "levrette" (female Greyhound), in the Italian language as "pecorina" (little sheep) and in the Kama Sutra as "the Union of the Cow" is a sex position. The name of the position refers to the position assumed by dogs when mating (although dogs, unlike most other mammal's, actually spend most of their copulation with the partners standing tail to tail, facing in opposite directions).
 Doggy style intercourse
In the doggy position, the receiving partner crouches on all fours with the legs slightly spread, while the penetrating partner penetrates the receiver vaginally and/or anally from behind, either using the penis, a dildo or the fingers, alternatively.
Benefits
For the penetrating partner, the position offers an unobstructed view of the partner's body from the rear as well as leaving the hands and arms free. Having the arms and hands free usually allows the penetrating partner to stimulate the clitoris, penis, or nipples of the receiving partner. For some women this position provides the best stimulation of the more elusive to reach G Spot. The receiving partner may also massage the testicles and genitals of the penetrating partner.

Drawbacks
For parties interested in more romantic lovemaking, one drawback of this position might be the difficulty of maintaining direct eye contact, or kissing.
Some consider the position humiliating or degrading because of it's perceived link to animal copulation, or more generally, because of its perceived submissive (Or receptive) nature. Also, it is possible for the male penis to be accidently bent in a painful direction in the position, if so happens.
Also, if the anus is penetrated in the doggy style position and objects inserted are removed too quickly, the potential exists to create a rectal prolapse.
